How would I change our government if I could

if I could change my government in China? I would make it more transparent, it means that we have more rights to supervise the running of the government and the government should do the best to make it clear to all of the people. In a long time, Chinese didn't get rid of the corrupted and relatively feudal govenment.The bureaucratic deeply hurt the growth of reformation and opening to China. Although in the seaboard and several inland provinces, the economic grows fast, most the further province has not been opened up yet. It resulted from government.
Another one is to build up the achieved social security. In China, over 50% people are farmer who gain no more 10000 rib every year. What’s more, in the poor area where are at least 50% of the whole country, people are not able to deal with the basic medical treatment and the annuities.
At last, to concern more about our generation, I want to change education system which is examination-oriented and lack of creation. That is one of the reasons why Chinese seldom get noble prize in science even though Chinese do well in the test all over the world.

Friday we were divided into groups to answer the questions and present our final works.We went on our discussion on the 4 questions in the first 10 minutes.The responsbilities of government should be that protect people's safety,ensure people have equal rights ,keep society and economic in order.At present,our conclusion is that the government is doing a good job though there are some mistakes sometimes.So we expect the service is free and equal education and justice judge etc.

These two days we talked about John Locke, who is the most important advocate during the Enlightenment and wrote his famous discourses.

My initial reaction about the “treatise of two government"

To be honest, it is one of the deepest article I have ever read. What I apprehend so far is that he is trying to figure out the inheritance from the fatherhood and their posterities. For a long time, why the properties are always inherited from father to the sons especially to the eldest son? Does the government makes the law or even is ordered by the god? As said in the passage, it results from the nature law; it is the regulation which formed as the timed proved. As same as the inheritance between fatherhood, it is between Adam and his so-called sucessor, princes.However, it is impossible for humans to accept the authority that takes over them without command and vote. For this reason, the sovereign should be in charge of the people that were agreed by most of the people. Only that can convince the society in order and guarantee common's due rights.

Deism might be the most popular and compellent hypothesis for hundreds of years.For its moderation ,it is acceptable and believed by many people.In fact,it does fit into this period .Although technology is growing fast,many people still need religion to support themselves.To satify themselves but not violate the science,Deism seems like the best choices.
Scientific Revolution,which changed the history of the human beings,was the period created by many intelligent scientist who even died from their insistance on their opinion.That era was really amazing,no one will ever expect there is a revolution emerge in the future.Thousands of undiscoverd things were identified and predicted,it wholly changed people's minds and habits.

Today We talked about our community again,but it changed because of what we read before.There are several types of communities we have read,religious,environment,and politics communities.Basically,their function and difference can be told from their name,and I wanna tlak about the difference between the communities base on different types of resource.
As NA,they use the natural resource basically,so they are more reliable but more tougher.The community live with the resource which is ready may seem more advanced and convienent,but they may be harmful sometimes.

Values of three different communities

Puritans:
Puritan community pursue both moral purity down to the smallest detail as well as ecclesiastical purity to the highest level.Puritan culture emphasized the need for self examination and the strict accounting for one’s feelings as well as one’s deeds.
So puritan's value is that they insist on purity and order.
Native Americans:
Native Americans live as nearly the same as the aboriginal live in other parts of the earth.The nature condition determine weather they will live comfortablly or live toughly .So they cherish what the nature has given them,although it might not comes from their true minds.As a result,they seldom waste food and water even though it is plenty in that point.
So the value of Native Americans is that their frugality .
Ben Franklin:
Ben Franklin is the founder of U.S.He is the model of so many American even though years past.He seek to be a perfect person. To achieve his goal,he make a cruel list of himself,and the point is he was trying to perfect himself throughout his life.
So the value of BFen Franklin is his industry.

Today it's the last day before fall break,everybody seems so excited. In class,we talked about B.Franklin finally.First,we reviewed what we have looked about his autobiography .In his autobiography,we can know how serious-minded he is .He pursued to be perfect,so he made a list about what kinds of things he should or should not do.For example ,order,which is the most important personality Bj wanted.In his "fault form",it is always appeared the most times.He is a very smart ,succesful man and knows many foreign languages.He is the founder of U.S,so throughtout what we read last week,CM and JE also regard him as their model.BJ,from his autobiography,he try to take his responsibility for community,he want to be the model and lead his community to a new future.That's what we need to learn.

Today We talked about some thinkers and some maximes."No Pain No Gain" is one of my favorite maximes.I believe,nobody succeed without effort.Cotton Mather ,Edward and Franklin,they are always working hard to make their idea come true.They try to save every second,that's what I need to do exactly.Then We talked about confucius,who is most influencing thinker in China's history

What a beautiful day,today I had a class on the lovely grass.First ,we talked about how we can think of just one thing.I think it isn't a tough job if we concentrate enough.My answer to the next question is "fall break".Although it is just 5 days,I am eager to be welcomed for its arrival.And then,Mr Maddox asked what we shall do if we get one more extra month.I want to learn one instrument during that month.When I was a child,I was not interested in instruments and didn't think it useful.When I grew up,I know it is important but I realized I didn't have enough time to learn it.That is one the things I regret not to do.

Spring Festival

Spring Festival,which has been existed in China for thousands of years.Originally,it was held for scare the year monster in the beginning of the year.But as time passed,it changed.In the Spring Festival,people have a long holiday,during it,people often drop by relatives and give lucky money to their children.It is a really good chance for guys who are busy always for a year.Parents can spend lots of time with their children,students can relax for a while although they need to study anyway.

Lucky money means the adult bless the children to grow up happily and healthy.Although its meaning can't depend on how much it is ,many adult give as much as they can because they don't want to lost their faces.So,it may "hurt" a lot of adult's purse during this period.
Couplet ,pieces of paper about poems written by brush pen.This kind of poems often mean to bless for a new year. Substaintially,the meaning of spring is changed deeply and widely,it is good.

Purpose behind the writing

From the things we read and write,I think there are something common in them.In my opinion,they all state what's our responsibilities to our community.In creation story and environmental literature,they write about how our human beings have destroyed the environment as well as have hurt ourselves.Moreover,Cotton Mather and Jonathan Edwards shows how our mankind use religious power to hurt ourselves although these two articles seem crazy.We mainly talked about community and religious problem these days.These two types of questions are related to our daily life.Culture difference sometimes make something unpleasant happen,especially the society around us is consist of different cultures,if we don't deal with these two problems well,it will be bad for us.

However,although there are something common in this writting,they don't mean to tell everything the same and use the same ways to tell us the authors opinions.In these texts,they basically tells something bad with lots of stories or details such as data,appearance and emotion.I don't think they really mean to answer their own questions;instead,they have already formed their own opinions and trying to tell us,that 's why they created this kind of writing.Yet they are almost descriptive articles,they are different in some ways.For example,the Native Americans creation stories,animal stories uses the relationship between human beings and myths to show the consequence for what we have done and to warn us.In these stories,although we are not the leading actors,the animal represent us.So,it is a indirect way to show their purpose.Cotton Mather and Jonathan Edwards,it states the foolish events with specific person's career so that we can see what happen through this person's life.At last,environmental literature, shows the author's opinion directly with data and dialogs.It is more easy for us to understand .

In short,although they shows things in different ways,they all tells us what we should do and what we have done.

What is your responsibility to your religious community?

In this paticular community,everybody should behave themselves more strictly because of the particularity of religious community.Religious community,which is more easy to cause conflict with each other or witch other communities which has difference beliefs.First of all,we should protect our communities from being involved in conflict and keeping peaceful.Second,if we insist something right,although it may be against our religion ,we should tell them to our communities to lead it to a right way.Or we should advocate our religion to others if it is right.

Why do we believe in things we can't prove?

As a common person,I believe in things which are read in the newspaper,told by others,heard from Tv,actually,what I believe is not I have seen.I think these kinds of things are deeply rooted,at least rooted since our mind's haven't been grew enough so that we are more easy to be influenced.On the other hand,we needn't believe everything proved,such as religion .Religion has its own idea,which is ideology,so it is impossible to prove.More important,we just need to believe in the things which we think are good for us ,not hurt other's interest,that is enough.

Today we talked about Cotton Mather ,which is a very famous for his accomplishment of religion.Then we talked about witchcraft.Witchcraft may be one of the most unbelieveable disaster in human's history.So many people died from it ,being accused of witchcraft even though they just met them once.It was a really long story,subsequently,religion involed in it too,it became even worse.However,where is the word "witch" from?It doesn't come from bible.Who creat it ?Why it will be existed in this world?Does it exist just for bewitch and destroy human beings?

Who decides what we believe? And why do we trust those people

I think no one can decide what we believe because we are human being,we have our own idea,to decide what we should do and believe for ourselves.When we are growing up,a lot of elements influence our minds,they partly control what we believe,even though it can't be seen.The people who influence us the most are our parents.We have been breathed into their thought since we are just a baby,who is more likely to adopt new things.In our childhood,we think what our parents think is right,they decides what we believe successfully.As growing up,we have our own thought,their thought no longer control us,but still influence us.What we do,is to digest these two thoughts to form our own views.We get different ideas from many kinds of medias,such as newspaper,Tv and Internet.Moreover,we access the ideas more from the people talk to us.Usually,the people we respect give us more important thought.So it is undoubted our point of views are often similiar with the respectful people a certain extent.In my opinion,it is our responsbility to persuade the people in our community not to accept the tortuose thought.

As a pagan,I don't agree with most the conversation which are made by the so-called religious leaders.Every religious leader,actually,make speeches for his interest group.It is hard for them to say winged words.However,sometimes they are representative of justice,so we must use our heads to think it over whether thay said is right or not.Never trust all the words from one person,no one is perfect,what we need to do is to try to be level-headed.

How is our community shaped by physical forces

Physical forces,as a touchable feeling,can influence people directly and rapidly.In our daily lives,we often do something which has been influenced by the physical forces although we knew it.Sometimes,we can't get rib of it because who put on the force are so strong that we can only to obey them.This kind of change will arose us to resist,or just be rebellious in mind.So when we are in this course,we and people around us know what we are thinking about and may have the same idea at that moment.That how our community shaped by physical forces,although this kind of shaping won't last long or deep-rooted because of its way to shape us.We have just been shaped the mind which is shallow and easy influnced,if there is another force added,it will change soon.

More important way to shape our community is supernatural forces.For my own part,it means something invisivle,ideaistic and slow-spread.I think religion is a kind of supernatural force.It exist in our daily,it isn't felt as clearly as physical forces.Although it is seen everyday,but people seem not to care about it ,more specificly speaking,it seem not to concern about their benefit directly,so people won't pay so much attention to it.However,religion influnce us since we are baby,even when we are still in our mother's belly.It spread its idea to us all our lives,even though we seem not to pay attention to it,in fact,we have been changed deeply.This kind of shaping change our personality and attitude toward things.It change out lives foundamentally.Basically,what kind of our community depends on how we are affected by the supernatural forces.

Today,we talked the thing that I scare a lot ,fot it is in English--poem.Although this poem is not a very difficult one,it confused me a lot.When classmates were discussing about the "white",I realized that there was a deep meaning behind it,that was what I neglected.Nowadays,these two color races are identified "white" and "black",because of white means noble in the literature,that is how the white to regard themself better than the black man ,who means evil and dirty. And in this poem,the writer use hyperbole to show his regret and confused.He don't know how he can become white,which means he can wash off his guilty.

Today we have a class on the grass,it may be the gift for the China's aniversary!
